The Microsoft Surface Duo became available in the US on September 10 and by the end of October it was already discounted by $ 200. Microsoft has slashed the price again and the dual-screen Android smartphone now starts at $ 1,000 (with 128GB of storage).

You can get double the storage for an extra $ 100 (and no, there’s no microSD slot). If you don’t have the cash up front, you can get an unlocked Duo for $ 33.33 per month paid over 30 months (that’s $ 36.66 / month for the 256GB version).
Microsoft will expand the availability of its wacky smartphone next week – the Surface Duo will launch in Canada, UK, Germany and France. However, just because American buyers get a $ 400 discount off the original retail price doesn’t mean their colleagues up north or across the Atlantic are getting price reductions.

The Duo will cost a wallet of £ 1,350 in the UK (available through the Microsoft Store and Currys PC World). The Germans will see a price of € 1,550. We haven’t seen the French price yet, but it should be about the same, around a few euros.
We wouldn’t rush to buy the Duo in Canada or Europe on day one, even though it is one of the most unique devices on the market. Given the drop in the US price (and the age of the Snapdragon 855), we would expect a promotional offer.
