As Apple tries to keep Project Titan absolute secrecy, leaks show things are heating up fast – latest report from Business intern reveals that Cupertino may have poached Porsche Taycan’s vice president of chassis development, Dr Manfred Harrer.
The Taycan is Porsche’s first electric car, whose production-ready version was revealed at the end of 2019. It is expected to serve as a platform for other fully electric cars from Porsche. However, the German automaker will have to do this without Dr Harrer – he literally wrote the book on modern steering systems.

Harrer started his career at Audi, then joined BMW before joining Porsche. He was responsible for chassis development at Porsche, which includes internal combustion cars, but all-electric vehicles are a whole different beast, so it’s his experience with the Taycan that counts. You can read this article for an overview of mechanical magic under the Taycan.
So far, Porsche and Harrer have not commented on this transition (it could be a case of garden leave). Either way, a former VW executive says Apple hit the jackpot with this rental.
Earlier today, it was reported that Apple was close to signing an agreement with Hyundai subsidiary Kia that would allow it to start manufacturing 100,000 cars per year by 2024 (with the option to switch at 400,000 / year). The work will be carried out at Kia’s facilities in the US state of Georgia.
