Schalke 04 has let Ozan Kabak move to Liverpool with a loan and option to buy deal. The Turkish player will take number 19.
The deal between the German team and the Kop has finished on Monday. Ozan Kabak will be in Liverpool as a loan player, and the English side will have option to buy him at the end of this season if they want to.
Kabak is the second defender that Liverpool brought in, and he would follow Ben Davies to join the Kop in the rest of this season. Kabak and Davies are the urgent addition for Liverpool as the club would not have service of Joel Matip due to his ankle injury. Meanwhile, Virgil Van Dijk and Joe Gomez remain to be doubtful choices.
Liverpool revealed that the option to buy deal between them and Schalke is about 18 millions Euro. The Kop can activate this option in the end of this season.
Before finalizing this deal, Liverpool has followed the player closely. Scouts from Merseyside have moved back and forth in the last few months in order to have the best analysis about the Turkish defender.
Kabak’s former boss said that the International star of Turkey team recognized the intention of Liverpool. Kabak confessed with his boss that he was not hesitant at all when he decided to join Liverpool.
“When Ozan heard the name Liverpool, he didn’t hesitate long and asked the club to do everything possible to make it work,” Kabak’s former boss said.
After departing for Liverpool, Kabak has left a farewell message on his Twitter for the former club.
As of today, I am no longer part of the wonderful Schalke 04 family, a place I had the privilege to call ‘home’ for once and a half years,” Kabak wrote on his social media page.
I would like to thank all my teammates and coaches with whom we have fought together during my time here. I have no doubt that Schalke 04 will soon reach the level of success this club deserves.

At Liverpool, Kabak will take number 19 and will be a good replacement for Matip, Gomez, and Van Dijk in the rest of this season. We still have to way whether Liverpool will activate the option to buy or not, but so far, Jurgen Klopp and his colleagues are happy with this new lad.
