Liverpool‘s unbeaten home run could not extend as Burnley managed to stop it with a ugly but urgent victory in Anfield.
Liverpool finally was stopped at Anfield by such a strange challenger named Burnley. It was an unusual result that happened in Anfield for Liverpool, defeated 1-0 by a visitor from the bottom half of the English Premier League table. But Liverpool’s unbeaten home run has ended, and obviously, it was an urgent victory for Burnley.
Jurgen Klopp said that he was not pleased at all with this result and blamed Burnley’s coach, Sean Dyche, for using an ugly tactics against Liverpool. However, it was the squad of Liverpool that should take responsibility for this defeat. Goalkeeper Alisson Becker, probably, was the cause of this loss. From out of nowhere, he gifted Burnley a penalty kick at the 83th minute. Ashley Barnes has never wasted a penalty for the Clarets before, and he scored for his side easily.

The goal of Barnes was also the only goal of the match, and it ended the unbeaten streak of Liverpool in Anfied at the number 68. On Sky Sports, Klopp addressed that his side has lost a game that “is not impossible to lose”.
We lost a game which I think it’s actually impossible to lose. But we did it, and that’s my fault because my job is to make sure that the boys have the right feelings — the right amount of confidence, they make the right decisions.
Klopp said.
Besides ending the streak of Liverpool, Burnley also got their first win against Liverpool since 1974. Klopp personally explained that Liverpool did not concentrate and they lost the match because of that.
We had the ball a lot, we created some situations but, in the final moment, obviously our decision-making is not right at the moment, that’s the problem. I have to make it clearer. How you come in behind their last line, these kind of things. That’s the job we have to do.
Klopp said.
Anyway, it was the bad match of the entire squad of Liverpool. They could have won this match, instead, wasting the chance and let the victory go off the road. Such a pity for The Kop!
