On Saturday last week, OnePlus released the latest Android 10-based update for the OnePlus 7 and 7T series. The last because the next stable release will bring Android 11. We don’t know yet when it will arrive, although the beta testing process is progressing rapidly.

OxygenOS 11 Beta 2 for OnePlus 7 and 7T series • Note: Security patch is still in December 2020
OxygenOS 11 Open Beta 2 arrives two weeks after Beta 1. There are a number of optimizations and improvements (full changelog below), but perhaps the most anticipated feature is the Always Display -On – only available on the OnePlus 7 Pro and 7T Pro, the OnePlus 7 and 7T vanilla.
The AOD can be found under the OnePlus Laboratory menu and, as the company notes, it will increase standby power consumption. It is too early to ask how much future versions will reduce battery usage.
Changelog
- System
- Optimized sliding effect of dynamic wallpaper
- Improved energy consumption in certain scenarios
- Automatic brightness adjustment intensity optimization to bring smoother using experience
- Fixed issue with the adapter not charging and using the headset at the same time
- Fixed issue where the battery icon is not showing in the status bar
- Fixed the issue that “ Tips & Support ” is not showing in settings
- Camera
- Fixed low probability flashback issue with camera when unlocking in Professional mode
- Ambient display
- Newly supported Always-on ambient display feature (OnePlus 7 Pro and OnePlus 7T Pro only) (Go to: Settings – Utilities – OnePlus Laboratory – Ambient display always on)
As usual, a full backup is recommended before installing this update (especially if you are currently running the stable version of OxygenOS 10). Follow the Source links for more details or visit XDA-Developers, which has download links if you want to manually install Beta 2.
