MIAMI, December 10, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — The Nobel Sustainability Trust (NST) successfully hosted its annual Summit 2025 in Miami on December 5, 2025, at the St. Regis Bal Harbor Resort, bringing together world leaders, policymakers, scientists, innovators and entrepreneurs to accelerate solutions for a sustainable future.

The summit opened with an elegant gala dinner hosted by renowned journalist Gloria Ordaz, with a welcome address from NST leaders and representatives from Miami Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava, followed by a special address from Ambassador Andrew Jackson Young and an honored VIP dignitary.
The official summit was moderated by global entrepreneur Jeff Hoffman, president of the Global Entrepreneurship Network and co-founder of Priceline/Booking.com. Opening remarks were delivered by Peter Nobel, Chairman of the Nobel Sustainability Trust, and remarks by Johan Rockström.
One of the highlights of the morning session was the Sustainability Awards Ceremony, introduced by the NST Board of Directors. Ed Russo delivered a keynote address on behalf of the President of the United States and received official recognition from the NST. Additional keynote speeches were delivered by the winners of the 2025 Outstanding Contribution to Sustainability Medal, HE Abdullah bin Hamad bin Abdullah Al Attiya and HE Dr. Yasmine Fouad, reinforcing global government commitment to sustainable development.
The Academic Awards segment included the presentation of the 2025 Sustainability Awards themes by the Technical University of Munich, followed by high-level recognition for leadership in implementation, outstanding research on biodiversity and smart, sustainable urban solutions. The 2025 winners were Professor Manfred Curbach, Professor Paul Hébert and the Global Observatory of Healthy and Sustainable Cities.
Additionally, NST is proud to announce its official academic partnership with the University of Cambridge and its Frontier Technology Lab, making Cambridge a selected strategic academic partner for NST from 2026. The announcement was made by Simran Chana on behalf of the University of Cambridge and its Frontier Technology Lab. This new partnership will focus on cutting-edge technologies, AI governance, sustainable innovation and future global solutions.
During the midday program, AECOM and NST announced their strategic partnership and presented the first Smart Sustainable City Certificate which was awarded to Lusail City, Doha.
Summit sessions explored future themes including AI and smart sustainable city solutions and biodiversity as global infrastructure. A keynote address on behalf of the President of Panama was delivered by HE the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Panama, followed by introductory interventions by Youssef Nassef, Head of the Adaptation Division of the UNFCCC, and Professor Graciela Chichilnisky. The program continued with two high-impact fireside chats on climate finance and the next era of artificial intelligence, reinforcing NST’s mission to connect policy, science, technology and investment for real impact.
With future summits planned in Doha next year, the Miami 2025 Summit reaffirmed the NST’s growing role as a global platform for sustainability leadership, innovation and international collaboration.
