Kevon Looney of Golden State Warriors can stay out for at least 2 weeks after suffering from a sprained ankle injury.
Golden State Warriors will not have the service of their big man Kevon Looney for at least two weeks due to his sprained ankle injury. The team team announced on Wednesday.
Looney struggled with this injury in the first half of Tuesday’s 111-107 loss to the Boston Celtics. He had an MRI late on Tuesday night before the sprain was identified. The player is in his recovery right now and he will continue the rehab. Warriors coach, Steve Kerr, said that “this was a fluke.” He described that Looney had his foot on the floor and rolled the ankle. Kerr confessed that he felt bad for the player after that twist.
I feel bad for him because he’s worked so hard to get back to this back and he’s really been playing well for us, so it’s a big blow.
Warriors coach Steve Kerr.
Looney’s injury occurred at a bad time for the Warriors. They are already playing their games without service of rookie center James Wiseman who earlier suffered from sprained left wrist in Saturday’s victory over the Detroit Pistons. Backup big man Marquese Chriss also has stayed out for a long term because of a serious ankle injury.
Chriss’ return remains to be a question mark.
Kerr recommended that Eric Paschall, Draymond Green and Juan Toscano-Anderson will be a replacement for Looney.
Kerr said that both Eric and Juan got more involved in with the game of Golden State Warriors. The coach believed that these young men have some good attributes for the squad.
Meanwhile, star guard of Warriors Stephen Curry is hopeful that the team can use their small-ball lineup advantage to get more wins in the upcoming time of the season.
About Looney’s injury, it remains to be questionable when the player can get back to play ground. But we know for sure that he would stay out at least for two months.
