Speaking at the meeting on socio-economic issues in Ho Chi Minh City on Feb. 2, a representative of Ho Chi Minh City’s Ministry of Labour, War Invalids and Social Affairs said that compared to each year’s New Year holiday, the number of employees that left their current job to find a new one declined.
According to the VNA, the city currently has more than 94% of companies returning to work after Tet, the number of employees returning to work is about 96%. The reason is that some units have a long Tet holiday, so they have not yet carried out production and business activities, workers have quit their jobs, or workers in remote provinces return to their hometowns to celebrate Tet and apply for additional leave .
Also in the last meeting, which is related to the job recruitment demand after Tet, the Information Department will take many measures to support companies to recruit workers, such as the next time, the city will organize job trading sessions, a direct and online trading platform for employees in the Southwest and Central Highlands region.
The purpose of organizing trading sessions through these forms is to introduce employees to jobs while helping companies recruit suitable employees to meet production and business needs as planned.
Statistics from the survey results of 499 enterprises in the area showed that the demand for labor recruitment in the first quarter of 2023 was 14,379 employees. In which 5,000 jobs are needed in the field of clothing, leather and footwear; The electricity and electronics industry needs about 2,200 positions, the plastics chemical industry needs 800 positions, the wholesale trade needs 1,000 positions…
