According to the regulations, the base fare for domestic flights in economy class ranges from VND 1.6 to 3.75 million each way, excluding taxes and fees.
The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam has just issued a document related to the fact that in recent times some mass media has reflected that passengers should purchase airline tickets above the prescribed prices on domestic routes, especially during the peak of the Lunar New Year in 2023.
This agency recommends that passengers purchase airline tickets through the airline’s counter or official agents to ensure their rights when participating in air traffic.
“Passengers should be careful when buying tickets through intermediary channels without clear addresses and origins. Passengers should pay particular attention to the fact that the airfare cannot exceed the specified fare,” Vietnam’s Civil Aviation Administration stressed.
Circular 17/2019/TT-BGTVT on the price range for passenger transport services on domestic routes, stipulating that basic economy class passenger transport services are priced at VND 1.6-3.75 million/ticket one way, depending on the flight distance. While purchasing tickets through distribution channels, if the fare exceeds the regulations, passengers can report to the Civil Aviation Administration hotline (0916562119) with information including but not limited to ticket prices, routes, ticket agents, airlines… so that the department has a basis to deal with any violations according to regulations.
“Until now, Vietnamese airlines have implemented many solutions to improve service quality and protect the interests of passengers traveling by air. In which there is the sale of airline tickets in accordance with the provisions of the law on domestic routes,” said the head of the Civil Aviation Administration.
