The Apple Silicon is likely to bring down the influence of Intel in terms of market share when the transition to its Silicon chips concludes.

Apple introduced its first Arm-based M1 chip in November 2020. But before this, the Cupertino giant is heavily dependent on Intel chips for its devices.
The Silicon chip was announced alongside the launch of the new version of MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, and Mac mini. On the other hand, the M1 variants of iMac and iPad Pro followed in 2021.
Upon the release of the M1 chip, its efficiency and performance were applauded by positive reviews. However, it was noted that the lack of support for the eGPUs is its biggest disadvantage compared to Intel chips.
Intel Market Share Disruption
Apple gave itself a timeline of at least two years to fully transition to the in-house chips for all of its devices. Upon its completion, Intel will significantly be affected as Cupertino giant is one of its long-time clients.
In hindsight, the partnership of Intel and Apple dates back to 2006 when the first generation Intel-based iMac debuted.
Moreover, halfway of the overall transition of Apple to its Arm-based processors is commencing in 2021. Essentially, the orders of the Cupertino company from Intel will decrease by about 50%, as per DigiTimes.
The online publication also took note that the market share of Intel is expected to dwindle in 2022, which would eventually lead its slice of the market to go below the 80% mark in 2023.
MacRumors noticed that Intel is anticipating this unfortunate development to happen. As such, the company is running a marketing campaign that puts down the reputation of Apple computers. It boasts that laptops sporting Intel processors are the gold standard in performance.

Future Apple Silicon
There is still a lot in store for what Apple can offer with Silicon chips, as the M1 is just the first iteration of their in-house processors.
Bloomberg revealed that Apple is covertly working on a top-of-the-line processor that could power the next release of Mac Pro. To be precise, it is expected to have a total of 32 high-performing cores, alongside 128 core graphics option. Additionally, it is anticipated to bring the limit of power and efficiency to the next level.
The current M1 Silicon chip only exhibits a total of 8 cores. Hence, the rumored Mac Pro processor is indeed a game-changer.
