After 2 major hits of the pandemic, the small nation of South East Asia remained to be one of the safest place in the world right now.
Many foreign media also encouraged what Vietnam has done against COVID-19. However, it is not time for cheering at all. Focusing on the third strike of coronavirus and tackle it is the mission of Vietnam right now. Nguyen Thanh Long, Minister of Vietnam Health Department, said that he would have a survey of Dong Trieu district, Quang Ninh today and decided whether should he apply social distancing for this zone or not.
“Yesterday, Vice Prime Minister Mr. Vu Duc Dam and the Health Department have also worked with government of Hanoi city. The capital is trying their best in locating the infected zones. Basically, pandemic situation in Hanoi is still complicated, and we all need more time,” Mr. Long said.

The Health Department also added that new variant of COVID-19 was found in Hanoi, Quang Ninh, and Hai Duong. This new variant is stronger than the original COVID-19 that has spread from Wuhan last year. Besides, it could spread with a higher spreading percentage of 70%.
Mr. Long recommended that Vietnamese citizens need to wear masks properly and use sanitizers in order to tackle the virus. Police and relevant consultants have to penalize citizens illegalizing the social distancing.
In a Governmental meeting, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc emphasized the importance of vaccines and told that he and his colleagues would highly consider using vaccine for Quang Ninh, Hai Duong, and other infected regions.
Moreover, the nation should also learn how to adapt with COVID-19 instead of just focusing on tackling it. The Prime Minister said.
“We should also encourage the development of commercialization for domestic market and approaching the cosmetic market with advantage granted by Free Trade Agreement.”
Finally, the Prime Minister wished that citizens will have a pleasure Tet holiday despite the effect of COVID-19.
“Tet holiday is only few days away from us. We need to be well-prepared from the highest departments to the lowest ones. Every cities and provinces need to prepare a large stock of goods for Tet holiday, avoiding the stocking problem, and help citizens have an enjoyable holiday,” Mr. Xuan Phuc said.
