The factory located in Phu Son commune, Huong Thuy town, 22 km from Hue city, is built by the Chinese company Everbright Environment Company at a cost of 1.7 trillion VND (69.1 million of dollars).
It is nearing completion and will start operating this quarter.
It is designed to process around 220,000 tonnes of waste per year, generating 93 million kWh of electricity.

Waste brought to the factory by JSC Hue Urban Environment and Public Works.
The waste is weighed before being sent to the recycling center and monitored using a camera system.

A truck transports the waste to a closed storage area designed to trap odors. From there, the waste is transferred to the incinerator.

The waste storage area is 28 m high and has a capacity of 600 tonnes.

The incinerator has windows allowing personnel to observe and regulate the fire.

The waste is burned at high temperatures, creating steam, which drives the turbine and produces electricity.

Waste residues are collected for reuse.

A worker collects the ash waste, which will be packed into bags and buried in a landfill.

Wastewater from the factory is fully treated to ensure it meets all safety standards before being released into the environment.
The wastewater parameters will be sent to the provincial Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment for verification through an automatic monitoring system.
Le Ba Phuc, director of the department, said that once the plant opens, the province would close several landfills without specifying how many or which ones.
