In the first 6 months of the year, Vietnam’s export turnover of telephones and components reached USD 29.17 billion, while the computer and electronic equipment group reached USD 27.68 billion.
According to data from the General Department of Customs, export sales of telephones and components in Vietnam were $4.39 billion in June, up 6.5% from the previous month.
In the first 6 months of the year, exports of telephones and components brought Vietnam USD 29.17 billion, an increase of 16.4% compared to the same period last year. This is also the item with the largest increase in exports in the first two quarters of the year with an increase of USD 4.12 billion.
Among them, the export turnover of phones and components to the US market reached USD 6.61 billion (an increase of 53.7% compared to the first half of 2021), China reached USD 6.45 billion (an increase of 16 6% ) and Korea reached USD 2.78 billion (up 29.8%). The export value to European Union (EU) countries reached USD 3.2 billion, a decrease of 7.7% compared to the same period last year.

With the computer, electronic products and components group, export sales reached USD 5.17 billion in June, an increase of 6.5% from the previous month. In the first 6 months of the year, the export value of this group of products reached USD 27.68 billion, an increase of 15.6% compared to the same period last year.
Based on data, the export turnover of computers, electronic products and components to the US was USD 7.32 billion (up 26.9% over the same period last year), China reached USD 5.89 billion (+12, 1%), the EU reached USD 3.73 billion (an increase of 18.5%), Hong Kong reached USD 2.88 billion (an increase of 1.3%) and South Korea reached USD 1.79 billion ( a decrease of 5.1%).
In terms of goods imports, the telephone and components industry reached USD 1.43 billion in June, down 3% from the previous month. In the first half of this year, the import value of this group of goods reached USD 10.28 billion, an increase of 13.5% compared to the first 6 months of 2021.
In the first six months of the year, South Korea and China are still the two main markets supplying Vietnamese telephones and components with an import value of US$9.35 billion, accounting for 91% of the group’s total import turnover.
Among them, the value of imports from South Korea reached USD 5.1 billion (up 28.3% from the same period last year) and China reached USD 4.2 billion (down 0.1%) .
For computers, electronic products and components, imports were USD 6.73 billion in June, down 3.1% from May. The import turnover of this sector in the first half of the year reached USD 43 billion, an increase of 27.4% compared to the same period last year, becoming the import sector with the largest increase in the first half of the year (9 .26 billion USD).
Among them, the import value from China reached USD 12.5 billion (+29.3%), South Korea reached USD 12.31 billion (+39.3%), Taiwan reached USD 5.85 billion, an increase of 33, 8%) and Japan reached USD 3.51 billion (+40.6% compared to the first 6 months of 2021).
