Demonstrate the importance of testing hail defense systems to protect solar farms worldwide

In the “HailStow studyTM Performance April 2025“VDE has evaluated the functioning of the Gamechange Solar’s hail stow for a solar installation on the scale of public services in the Arkansas subject to hail.
The aim of the study was to confirm the performance of the Gamechange Solar’s hail mitigation system, which can be installed to protect solar assets from catastrophic hail damage. For the study, VDE examined the operational data during six storms that passed near the study site over a period of three days and met the criteria to trigger a hail. In all cases, the system has successfully passed through the desired steep storage corner, where solar panels are tilted to divert the impact of direct hail.
