On Wednesday, June 1, Scandinavian companies, diplomats and business leaders will gather in Ho Chi Minh City for a major conference to promote inclusive and sustainable business in Vietnam.
With a keynote from the world famous Danish toy company Lego and speeches from the ambassadors of Sweden and Norway, the third annual ‘Work the Nordic way’ conference also gives Vietnamese job seekers the chance to meet major Scandinavian companies through an afternoon of workshops, panel sessions and networking.
Organized by the Nordic Chamber of Commerce (NordCham) and four Vietnamese-Nordic alumni associations, the event will take place at the Intercontinental Saigon from 2pm-8pm and will focus on the theme of a diverse and inclusive workforce. Scandinavian countries are world leaders in this field, and speakers will talk about how promoting inclusion in the workplace can contribute to business success and socio-economic growth.

The event also includes a job fair and workshops with major Scandinavian companies, including Tetra Pak, Home Credit, Novo Nordisk, IKEA and Esoft. With this and 25 other companies present, ‘Work the Nordic way 2022’ will provide Vietnamese job seekers with unique opportunities to interact with leading European companies across a range of sectors and industries.
The event is open to anyone interested in working for Scandinavian companies or wanting to learn more about Scandinavian corporate culture. Registration is now open on the Work the Nordic Way site†
In a comment prior to ‘Work the Nordic Way 2022’, HE Ann Måwe, Swedish Ambassador to Vietnam, said:
“Nordic values are at the heart of Scandinavian business – no more than an inclusive and diverse workforce. This is one that leverages the talents of all employees and enables everyone to reach their full potential. By doing so, the Nordic countries have been able to unlock more innovation in business and create some of the world’s leading enterprises. I am delighted that NordCham is promoting these values in Vietnam and I hope that Vietnamese job seekers will take this opportunity to meet Scandinavian business leaders in person and see how Scandinavian corporate culture can jump-start their careers.”
Eva Maria Hansen, Head of HR Partnering & Operations, LEGO Manufacturing Vietnam, added:
“Vietnam is one of the most attractive countries for Scandinavian companies, with a well-trained, energetic pool of talented people who can drive our business forward in this fast-growing market. We are proud to do business here and to share our values with those who join our team. Not only do we invest in Vietnam, we also invest in our people and hope to recruit and develop the next generation of Vietnamese business leaders through events like these.”
Thue Quist Thomasen, president of NordCham, concluded:
“The third annual ‘Work the Nordic Way’ conference offers great matchmaking opportunities for Vietnamese job seekers and Scandinavian business leaders. As our room continues to grow, more Scandinavian companies are looking for engaged, enthusiastic employees who can help their business thrive in Vietnam. In return, Vietnamese workers get the chance to learn from the corporate culture of some of the world’s leading companies, right here on their doorstep.”
