The new live information platform, built with IBM Watsonx, will deliver real-time milestones, footage and recordings directly to UFC broadcasts and data systems.
ARMONK, NY and LAS VEGAS, November 15, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — IBM (NYSE: IBM) and UFC, the world’s premier mixed martial arts organization, today announced the next phase of their technological evolution with the launch of Combat Informationan AI-powered live alert platform that monitors and reports in real-time when notable milestones, streaks and recordings occur during UFC events. He is expected to debut at UFC® 322: DELLA MADDALENA against MAKHACHEV, which takes place at Madison Square Garden in New York this Saturday, November 15.
As the official AI partner of the UFC, the new technology solution leverages more than 13.2 million UFC data points from over 20 years of fights and more than 2,400 current and former UFC athletes, enhancing the viewing experience for both die-hard and casual fans.
Part of the UFC Insights engine built with IBM Watsonx, the new Combat information This capability marks the most advanced evolution of this system to date and the first live integration since the IBM-UFC partnership launched a year ago. Moving beyond pre- and post-fight applications to real-time moments, the engine is designed to identify and trigger key fight moments, such as record strike totals, streaks and other important milestones as they occur.
“UFC Insights Engine, built with IBM Watsonx, is a complex AI package that goes deep to uncover new, real-time insights for fans in seconds,” said Alon Cohen, executive vice president of innovation for TKO. “Anyone who uses AI tools knows that they are normally able to go further or faster, but not both. However, in collaborating with IBM for these new combat statistics, we have optimized Insights Engine to accomplish both, which is a real game-changer.”
While Pre-Fight Insights will continue to provide analysis moments before the opening bell, Combat information will give broadcasters immediate contextual understanding to share with fans. By integrating this information into the broadcast workflow, UFC and IBM deliver a new level of instant intelligence to commentators, production teams and fans. Data will also be stored in UFC Insights Engine for archiving and analysis purposes.
“The launch of Combat information is the latest example of how AI is truly changing the game when it comes to live sports viewing for fans around the world,” said Jonathan Adashek, senior vice president, marketing and communications, IBM. “It speaks to the UFC’s commitment to always thinking outside the octagon, to better capture the enormous storytelling potential and human element of the action that takes place inside the cage.”
From announcing their partnership in November 2024The UFC and IBM worked together to build the foundation of the UFC Insights Engine, aggregating and analyzing the organization’s rich library of fight data to create more personalized, data-driven fan experiences. THE Combat information This addition is part of a broader effort to scale the Insights Engine across all UFC platforms, including live streams, pre-event programming, social media channels and on-site activations.
As the popularity of mixed martial arts continues to grow globally, UFC and IBM are leveraging AI and data to bring fans closer to the sport and its athletes than ever before.
