During its debut, the Center showcased several digital Buddhist projects, including AR Vision -Nine Ball Meditation, a tool jointly developed by NetDragon and Rokid that combines Rokid’s latest AR glasses to provide users with auditory, visual, and even tactile assistance for meditation. . Rokid AR breaks the barriers between body and space through “AI+AR”, using spatial computing capabilities of “visualization” and “interaction”, allowing participants to enter an intelligent creation space. This not only brings a new experience to meditation, but also provides a new form of observable, palpable and experiential experience for Buddhist practices, education and the dissemination of Buddhist wisdom and culture. After having experienced it, Mgr. expressed that this new form of digital practice will have broader and deeper inspiration for Buddhist education, worthy of further exploration and promotion.
The research center also presented the Digital Religion standing machine, a product that combines online guided tours, online light offering and pre-booking of Buddhist events using an H5 platform as a service support in online and offline. Very Ven. greatly admired this product, stating that it was exactly the digital temple shape he had been looking for for years. After receiving the affirmation, Mi Xiong proposed to vigorously promote the ecological model of digital temples in Thailand.
Additionally, the center also introduced an AR tour guide and interactive experience facilities combining VR technology with Buddhist themes. It also includes the ActivPanel 9, a new interactive tablet from Promethean, which has approximately 30% global market share for smart displays. The Promethean Smart Display will provide an integrated, immersive and interactive classroom as well as various intelligent teaching software tools for future Buddhist education.
The completion and launch of the Digital Buddhist Research Center will provide a more diverse range of discussion topics for the upcoming UN Vesak Day and welcome distinguished monks, scholars and professors from around the world to visit and experience. Mi Xiong said the department is willing to exchange and learn from professionals in the Buddhist world and will focus on promoting the global spread of Buddhist culture and supporting the development of Buddhist education using a advanced technology.
