Particularly in the past 6 months, dozens of export commodities groups have achieved sales of more than USD 1 billion, of which 5 commodities groups have reached USD 10 billion or more. Phones and components lead the way with USD 29.17 billion, an increase of 16.4% compared to the same period in 2021.
Next is the computer, electronic products and components group at USD 27.68 billion, an increase of 15.6%; machinery, equipment, tools and spare parts reached USD 21.2 billion, an increase of 23.8%; textiles and clothing reached USD 18.53 billion, an increase of 20.8%. In addition, footwear is a new group of goods that reached more than USD 10 billion in the first 6 months of the year, with a result of USD 11.79 billion, an increase of 13.5% compared to the same period in 2021.
When looking at the export turnover by province, the report from the General Customs says that there are 6 places with an export turnover of more than 10 billion USD. In particular, Ho Chi Minh City and Bac Ninh are two places with an export turnover of more than USD 20 billion.

With export turnover of USD 21 billion, an increase of 9% from the same period last year, Bac Ninh is the province with the second highest export turnover in the country. In addition, in the first 6 months of 2022, 4 provinces and cities also have an export turnover of more than USD 10 billion, including Binh Duong, Thai Nguyen, Dong Nai, Hai Phong, with the export turnover of USD 18.2 billion, 16.7 billion dollars, $12.9 billion and $11.4 billion, respectively.
As for the import situation, Ho Chi Minh City is the only place with an import turnover of more than USD 30 billion in the first 6 months of 2022. In addition, the import turnover of goods from places such as Bac Ninh, Binh Duong, Thai Nguyen, Hai Phong and Dong Nai also reached more than USD 10 billion. Specifically, the import turnover of goods in the first 6 months of this year was USD 19.7 billion, USD 12.6 billion, USD 10.3 billion, USD 10.4 billion and USD 10.1 billion, respectively.
