A torrential downpour that lasted for two hours in Saigon on Sunday afternoon flooded streets in several districts in the city, local media reported.
According to the Tuoi Tre newspaper, severe flooding has turned many streets into rivers.
At 4.30 pm that same day, Nguyen Van Khoi Street was still below knee-deep water, causing many engines to break down.
Thu Trang, told a local reporter she had to wait for the water to recede before continuing her journey home.
The situation on Pham Van Chieu Street not only created problems for commuters, but also slowed activity in local shops and eateries.

The National Center for Hydrology Meteorology Forecasting issued warnings this afternoon of unpredictable and severe natural disasters, along with torrential rains and flood warnings for the country in the coming months.
About 10-12 storms and tropical low-pressure systems are predicted to enter the Baltic Sea from now until the end of December. From July to September, rainfall in the northern region can be approximately higher than the annual average rainfall, while rainfall in the central highlands and southern regions is usually less than the average rainfall in previous years.

The southern regions continue to experience warm and sunny weather in the afternoon and thunderstorms in the evening. During thunderstorms there is a chance of tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong winds.
