LONDON,, September 13, 2025 / Prnewswire / – World Design Organization (WDO) ® has concluded its World Congress of Design 2025which took place from September 9 to 11 London (United Kingdom). Hosted in collaboration with the promotional member of WDO The Design CouncilThe three -day hybrid event hosted more than 1,200 participants at the emblematic Barbican center to explore the vital theme of Planet design.
With visionary keys of design chiefs like Lord Norman Foster,, Julia Watson And Thomas Heatherwick to the inspiring ideas of Marianna May,, Indy JoharCharlot Charlo and Brian EnoCongress highlighted how design can be a catalyst for a more regenerative future.
A major highest point included the announcement of a renowned industrial designer Dieter Rams as a winner of 2025 World Design Medal ™. The price was accepted on behalf of Rams by Professor Dr. Klaus KlempManaging Director of RAMS FoundationWho highlighted Rams’ lasting heritage as a design defender who shapes our world, and in fact our planet, for the best.
The event also welcomed its excellence, Dr Heong-Joon Park, mayor of Busan Metropolitan City to officially accept the recent designation of the city as a world capital capital 2028. During the acceptance speech, Mayor Park stressed Busan aspirations under the theme of Inclusive city, committed designnoting that “this designation as a world design capital is not only an honorary title or a unique distinction. It will serve as a turning point for an innovative change and development both in the quality of life of our citizens and multiple aspects of our city”.
The third and last day of programming, WDO members met for the 34 of the organizationth General assembly at the Design Museum. The day’s procedure included the election of 2025-2027 Wdo Conseil as follows:

WDO President Prize
In recognition of their demonstrated commitment to the WDO mission and its various initiatives during the last mandate, the Prize of the President of WDO 2025 was awarded to business members Andreu world. Honor recognizes not only their active commitment within the WDO community, but also their pioneering work in the progression of sustainable materials, circular commercial models and responsible manufacturing practices which resonate worldwide.
World Congress of Design 2027
Relying on the momentum of the week, the Seoul Design Foundation was announced as the host of 35th World Design Congress, which will take place in Scramble (South Korea) In September 2027 Under the theme of Sustainable life design. The 2027 Congress will mark the 70-year-old WDO establishment as a world international organism for design, and a return to the city after its previous designation as a world design capital in 2010. As Kang-Heui Cha, CEO of Seoul Design Foundation noted, “we start a journey to durability, opening the future of the world”.
