A key point of the event was the visit of a 20 MWh historic project in Malko Tarnovo, powered by the C & I Modular Battery Storage System (BESS). In partnership with TRAKIA MT LTD., a main Bulgarian solar company, the system is installed on a solar farm and has hybrid sigenergy C & I inverters combined with the Sigenstack modular storage solution.

Modularity transforming energy storage C&I
Sigenstack introduces a truly modular approach to C & I energy storage – complaint of bulky container systems with stackable 12 kWh batteries. With plug-and-play connectors and a toolless installation, the system eliminates complex wiring, cranes need and heavy machines.

Security designed at the pack
Sigenergy C & I BESS solutions define new references for system safety. At the heart of this innovation is the Sigenstack system, designed with safety at all levels. Each 12 kWh battery includes six protective layers: temperature sensors, internal fire suppression units, aerogel insulation, decompression valves, high temperature insulation pads and smoke detectors. This configuration allows early detection of thermal leak in the pack and initiates a quick and localized response in a few seconds.
On the other hand, conventional cabinet style systems generally lack compartmentalization and can take more than a minute to react, increasing the risk of fire spread. By isolating incidents at the module level, Sigenstack considerably improves system reliability and operational security.
Its advanced inverter platform includes an ultra-fast anti-speed protection of 500 ms and long-term arc default switch technology (AFCI) capable of detecting defects up to 500 meters.
To further validate its security performance, Sigenergy has teamed up with the World Intertek Insurance Supplier to publish a white C&I security paper. The results confirm full compliance with UL 9540A and IEC 62619, structural stability under extreme tests and sustained operational efficiency greater than 95%.

Built on robust security and a modular design, C & I BESS of Sigenergy supports the autonomous operation 24/7. With an IP66 rating for resistance to dust and water, it offers reliable performance in various environmental conditions. However, conventional cabinet style systems often contain more vulnerable components and the demand for monthly inspections, replacements of half -yearly part and full annual maintenance.
Surveillance in real time via a cloud-based platform provides complete visibility on the state of the system, energy flow and alarms, considerably reducing the need for on-site inspections. Maintenance is also rationalized: defective batteries can be replaced individually within two hours, without complete system diagnosis or technician intervention on site. This reduces downtime, simplifies the logistics of spare parts and minimizes operational costs.
