The Oval Partnership (“The Oval” or “the Team”), renowned for its commitment to heritage preservation and sustainability, will contribute to SNF 2023 with an exhibition from August 18 to October 1, 2023 at the Fort Canning Center,

The Kampong Port Cities of the Pre-colonial Era exhibition is a journey to the cities of Kampong in Southeast Asia in the 14th century, where knowledge was a key source of wealth and where trees were more valuable than trees. real estate. Visitors can weave fabric trimmings into the pavilion’s tapestry walls, contributing to its evolving design.
The exhibition is built with materials that minimize the carbon footprint. The team focuses on local sourcing of repurposed materials such as reclaimed wood. It also works with a diverse group of organizations and individuals in Singapore who share their commitment to sustainability and heritage preservation. Expo partners include universities, SMEs, non-profits and individuals from local communities.
The exhibition includes a collaboration between several talented artists. Two of them, Gilles Massot and Marc Nair, are from
Intersection Art Gallery.
Gilles Massot, a multidisciplinary artist and scholar, explores the theory of photography and its relationship to time and space. Starting from the idea of ”the space between things”, it aims to connect and decipher the narratives between disciplines, people, events and different sections of the world.
Marc Nair, poet and multidisciplinary artist, has produced numerous collective and individual photographic exhibitions, multiple performances of oral creations and six collections of poetry thanks to his collaboration with many graphic designers or visual artists and photographers.
