About the O-Ran Alliance
The O-Ran Alliance is a global community of mobile operators, suppliers, research and university establishments as well as government agencies, operating or interested in radio access networks (RAN). As the RAN is an essential element of any mobile network, the mission of the O-RAN Alliance is to restore industry to smarter, open, virtualized and fully interoperable mobile networks. The new O-RAN specifications allow a more competitive and more dynamic RANC ecosystem with faster innovation to improve the user experience. Mobile networks based on O-RAIs at the same time the effectiveness of RAN deployments as well as operations by mobile operators. To achieve this, the O-RAN Alliance publishes new RAN specifications, publishes open software for the RAN and supports its members in the integration and tests of their implementations.
