The Property and Facilities Management Division of the Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors hosted the 2023 Annual Conference. at the Chiang Chen Studio Theater at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University today.
With the theme of
“Next generation of intelligent property and facility management in the Greater Bay Area”, the conference attracted 230 guests from Hong Kong and the mainland. The conference brought together industry experts, practitioners and academics from across the Greater Bay Area to share ideas on industry development and explore the latest technology application strategies in real estate and asset management. facilities.

Due to rapid digital innovation and transformation in the construction sector in Hong Kong and the country in recent years, it would be important to explore the adoption of smart technologies in property and facilities management to facilitate the development of smart cities and improve the quality of life.

Ms. Winnie HO Wing-yin, JP, Secretary for Housing of the HKSAR Government mentioned in his opening remarks: “Embracing innovation and collaboration is crucial to improving the quality and efficiency of our property and facilities management services. The Housing Office has integrated innovative technology into construction and management services to improve efficiency, quality, safety and sustainability while reducing waste and pollution. Today’s conference provides a platform to leverage strengths, share best practices, and explore smart solutions in smart property and facility management in the Greater Bay Area, aligning with the government’s Smart City plan.

Sr Professor HUI Chi Man Eddie, MH, JP, Professor at the Department of Building and Real Estate, Hong Kong Polytechnic University; Deputy Chairman of the Property Management Services Authority, former Chairman of the Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors – Property and Facilities Management Division and
Professor CHAN Yuk-kit, James, MH, JP, Managing Director of Charterwealth Professional Limited, twelve industry leaders were invited to explore the current opportunities and challenges of adopting smart technologies in property and facilities management and to share their visions of technology adoption in the Greater Bay Area over the next ten years.
