Guangzhou, China,, September 18, 2025 / Prnewswire / – The fifth Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Culture and Arts Festival launched at Guangzhou Opera on the evening of September 16. The festival is jointly sponsored by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of The People’s Republic of Chinathe popular government of Guangdong provinceThe government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR) and the Macao Sar government.

One month’s culture and feast of arts present five categories of events in 11 cities: the performance series “Arts in the Bay”; “Resonance in Arts” art conferences; Art exhibitions “shared aesthetic”; Activities “Art in Daily Life” for the benefit of the public; and the show of the show “Radiance of Arts”. More than 100 performances, 19 exhibitions and more than 150 community events will take place.
The festival started with the concert “Symphony of the Greater Bay Area”, where seven compositions highlighting the “GBA Gene” – the most remarkable symphonic works of Guangdong in recent years – have been played.
Several classical world renowned works will be staged in the GBA, and several acclaimed international troops have chosen the festival as the first stop Chinaallowing the local public to savor the charm of world class art without traveling far.
Among the performances already staged were “La Traviata”, a classic opera performed by a troop of around 150 members of the Greek national opera for its beginnings in China. Another performance was Matthew Bourne “Swan Lake”, renowned for its entirely male revolutionary whole which reinvents classical history and is considered an important step in modern ballet. In addition, “Eugene OneGin” and “Uncle Vanya”, all two classic plays produced by the Centennial Vakhtangov Theater of Russiawere rented for their mode of achieving the depth and subtlety of the Russian literary giants. Five stars of international renowned musical theater, including Brad Littleshared the scene for the first time at the GBA, performing 26 plays of classical musicals.
After that, the French musical “Molière” will set up the scene at Guangzhou Opera House in October, illustrating the legendary life of the French theater Molière through its revolutionary aesthetics.
“Confucius”, a dance drama of the National Theater of Opera and Dance Theater, was staged. Following that, the national theater of China will present the modern drama “The Yellow Storm”, while the Shanghai Yue Opera House will present its classic interpretation of the literary masterpiece A dream of red residences With its adaptation of opera yue from the same name. The production of Guangdong Yue Opera Theater “Samsui Women” tells an inspiring story of female resilience, and the Southern Song and Dance Tropbe “I Like You” Bridges Tradition and Modernity by integrating Yingge dance with musical theater.
To further fight the entertainment market in GBA and support high quality development of Guangdong Performing arts market, this year’s festival includes the “radiance of the arts” on the theme of components – the 16th China (Guangzhou) International entertainment of the performing arts.
