Buenos Aires, Argentina,, September 19, 2025 / Prnewswire / – Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra (QPO) launched its first South American tour with an opening concert in DohaAssisted by His Excellency Sheikha Al Mayassa Bint Hamad bin khalifa al Thanifollowed by a historical start to Buenos Aires’ Teatro Colón on September 17. Performance has marked a highest point in the years of culture initiative this year, a global effort that supports cultural curiosity and strengthens links through international exchanges through social development, heritage, creative industries and innovation.

In Teatro Colón, frequently evaluated among the best opera sites in the world and celebrated for its acoustics, QPO has brought its unique merger of Western symphonic traditions and musical heritage of the Arab world to Argentina passionate public.
Maestro Diemecke led more than 70 QPO musicians in a performance described both as “a decisive expression” of the cultural exchange mission of the orchestra and “a powerful symbol of the universality of music”. He was particularly poignant given the previous mandate of Diemecke as Director General General of Teatro Colón from 2017 to 2022, marking his first return to the room.
