TAIPEI, TAIWAN – Media OutReach – September 28, 2023 – Taiwan’s wonderful street food, culture, history and tourist attractions, not to mention the hospitality and kindness of its citizens, are reasons to want to for visitors to come back and visit Taiwan again. ! The number of international travelers to Taiwan has been steadily increasing since Taiwan eased its border controls and will likely reach 6 million visitors in 2023. To accelerate the revival of the tourism industry and make Taiwan the top destination for travelers, the Ministry of Tourism (MOTC) launched the “Plan to Accelerate and Expand International Tourism Attraction ~ Lucky Taiwan” Campaign. Visitors staying between 3 and 90 days who are not part of tour groups and have not applied for other group subsidies from this office can participate for a chance to win NT$5,000 in consumer vouchers .
During the campaign, Taiwan, the land of luck, will select 500,000 lucky independent travelers who will receive either a NT$5,000 “digital voucher” or an “accommodation voucher” that can be used within 90 days. Registration for the campaign lottery will continue until June 30, 2025. Different markets for visitors to Taiwan will also partner with us to offer other promotions.
On September 15, 2023, the Tourism Office will be elevated in status and become the Tourism Administration. It will offer even more amazing benefits, including coupons and gift cards for items like coffee at convenience stores and products at drugstores. We will work to revive tourism and create new and diverse ways to enjoy travel.
