The newly renovated Terminal 2 adds 21,000 square meters to the airport, strengthening Changi’s capacity to handle increased traffic. The facility can now accommodate 16 airlines with connections to 40 cities.
The Terminal 2 expansion project increased the airport’s annual passenger capacity by five million to a total of 90 million passengers per year across the four terminals.
Terminal 2 now has double the number of automated check-in kiosks and bag drop machines, as well as expanded immigration halls for additional automated immigration lanes, according to CNA.

For passengers with special needs, the terminal offers automated special assistance lanes in both the arrival and departure areas, a first for Changi terminals.
A new automated baggage storage system, capable of handling up to 2,400 bags, has also been installed.
The terminal features a nature-themed design with green columns with plants.
The departure hall features a captivating 14 meter high digital screen, “The Wonderfall”, imitating a cascading waterfall.
The departures hall’s former flight information display flip chart has been transformed into a kinetic art exhibit with Solari Board shutters, according to the airport’s website.
In the transit area, the Enchanted Garden is full of a wide variety of orchids and sweet ferns, it is said.
The staging area also has a two-story Lotte Dury Free Wines & Spirits with a robot bartender preparing cocktails for visitors. On the upper level, there is a lounge where visitors can taste 18 different whiskeys.
Additionally, there is a dining room with great views of the airport tarmac and a variety of famous dining options.
The expansion of Terminal 2, which began in January 2020, experienced delays mainly due to the Covid-19 pandemic. After a pause, arrival operations resumed in May 2022 and departure operations started in October 2022.
