Re Pte Ltda new entrant to the local plastic recycling industry, today announced its latest initiatives which underline its commitment to sustainability and the environment in Singapore.
Semula aims to be a key player in sustainable development. Since starting her own business, Semula has largely focused on reinventing plastic waste. Through its own research and experimentation, Semula has adopted a unique process to transform discarded HDPE
Plastic waste into an alternative reusable material, reducing the need for businesses to resort to new resources. Semula’s approach to sustainability and waste reduction is very much in line with Singapore’s zero waste master plan.
In collaboration with like-minded partner Roger&Sons, Semula created cafe furniture from used HDPE milk bottles collected from Foreword Coffee Roasters for its own outlet at the University’s Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music National Bank of Singapore. This proudly showed how, with a little imagination and the right processes in place, plastic waste can be transformed into unique creations. Today, Foreword Coffee continues to supply Semula with empty plastic bottles to transform them into an alternative material that can be reintroduced to the market. The partnership encouraged Foreword staff to actively participate in the collection and cleaning of empty milk bottles at their various points of sale.
In June 2022, Semula won the Grand Prize at the annual Singapore Design Awards organized by the Design Business Chamber Singapore. Semula is also proud to benefit from the Sg Eco Fund created by the Ministry of Sustainable Development and Environment to support projects that advance environmental sustainability and involve the community.

Semula’s initiatives are not limited to the production of its recycled Semula plastic and finished products. The company
also offers conferences aimed at raising awareness about the environment and sustainability, practical
upcycling workshops to create memories from plastic waste and nature trails through some of Singapore’s best-loved parks and nature reserves.
