From May to July, photographers return to Hon Kho Island, which belongs to the fishing village of Nhon Hai (Quy Nhon, Binh Dinh) to “hunt for seaweed”.

The series of photos was taken by photographer Dang Van Hai (residing in Phu Cat, Binh Dinh). Traveling and capturing beautiful moments in every place you visit has long been a favorite of this 29-year-old photographer. In the photo seaweed in the fishing village of Nhon Hai seen from above.
Seaweed appears from May to July, creating a beautiful scene as a “golden field” under the clear blue sea. On the other hand, seaweed is also a “seasonal” source of income for fishermen.

“In May 2021 I photographed seaweed for the first time. If I have to make a comment, I like that time better than this year. At the time, I was SUP rowing when I suddenly discovered the beach through a flycam device,” he said.

This photo, taken during the dreamy season in 2021, has won this photographer many international awards.

Seaweeds often live and cling to coral reefs and reefs. When a plant grows tall, it flows over the surface of the water. Many such trees create impressive golden seaweed beaches right on the sea’s surface.

Seaweed is a gift of nature in favor of Quy Nhon. It is harvested for export or to make medicine or fertilizer. However, overexploitation of seaweed also adversely affects the reproduction of some aquatic species.

Sharing with reporters, this photographer noted that it is also beautiful from the outside, but the most beautiful can still be admired through photos. The new drone’s wide camera angle highlights a large area, filled with the yellow color of seaweed.

“In order to take good pictures, in addition to choosing the camera angle, the time of the rainy season, you also have to keep an eye on the tides and wind. To take good pictures, you have to take pictures when the water is calm, the tide is low and especially when there is no wind,” he shared his experience.
The most effective shooting equipment is the drone to take wide-angle photos. If you want, you can use the action camera to dive and capture underwater corals and algae.
