Melbourne, Australia,, March 20, 2025 / Prnewswire / – The SAFE & TOGETHER Institute, a world leader in training and informed implementation of domestic violence, announced today the launch of “SAFE & TOGETHER: AN INTRODUCTION TO The Model for Independent Children’s Lawyers”, a complete online course developed in collaboration with the National Program of the Children of Legal Aid (ICLL) family and family violence (DFV) with family consultations.
The training includes the professional development of the ICL in alignment with the Safe & Together model, which was approved and implemented by the Federal Circuit and the Family Court of Australia (FCFCOA) Since 2021. The course has been designed to familiarize the ICLs with the concepts and practices adopted by numerous children’s protection organizations of states and territory and provides the ICLS with new perspectives on the treatment of complex DFV cases, aligned on recent changes in the law on family law.

Rather than providing normative solutions, the course is based on the existing professional judgment and the legal expertise of the ICLS while focusing on the development of critical thinking skills. Interactive activities promote the commitment of learning and the retention of knowledge, with tailor -made equipment helping ICLs apply the safe model and together to their role of advocacy for children.
The main areas of content include the protection of children in family violence contexts, identifying protective parental behavior, understanding coercive control behavior, analysis of the impact of family violence on children, changes in the family law law and their implications and the evaluation of complex cases of DFV.
