A total of 37 people were killed and 52 others injured in 81 traffic accidents across the country during Hung Kings Day of Remembrance, which began on April 9, the Ministry of Public Security’s Traffic Police reported.
The police dealt with 15,951 traffic violations, with fines totaling more than VND 17.18 billion (about USD 751,465). As many as 2,033 vehicles were seized and 1,236 drivers had their licenses revoked, Vietnam News Agency reported.

The data showed that of the total, as many as 230 traffic violations were handled by the department’s police, with a total of more than VND 889 million in fines. Nine vehicles were seized and 90 drivers had their licenses revoked.
Meanwhile, the waterway police have dealt with 159 violations, with fines of VND 281.2 million imposed.
Notably, a serious motorcycle accident was reported on April 10 in Cam Lam district of central Khanh Hoa province, killing three people, according to Vietnam News Agency.
