    A recently released study, conducted by GenZ Insights, confirms the opportunity for in-app short-form content for media companies and streamers.

    LAS VEGAS And TORONTO, January 6, 2025 /CNW/ – (CES 2025) – Quick playa leading OTT solution provider, launched Quick play shortsa new product that both creates and syndicates short-form vertical content from long-form LIVE and VOD videos, and a social infinite vertical scrolling front-end experience. Integrating seamlessly with existing OTT ecosystems and applications, it allows streamers to reach and engage younger audiences and unlock new monetization opportunities.

    Quickplay Launches “Shorts,” Transforming Streaming with a Short Film Creation Tool and Social Media-Centric User Experience

    Short-form video dominates digital consumption today, with platforms like TikTok and YouTube capturing a growing share of audiences. Gen Z is leading the way, spending more than three hours a day on short-form platforms, compared to just one hour on traditional streaming and broadcasting combined.

    This paradigm shift towards abbreviated consumption is validated by a new study from GenZ Insights LLC in collaboration with Quickplay and Toluna*, conducted to better understand the habits and opportunities of media companies among Generation Z audiences. The first of Study results released today reveal that 81% of Gen Z viewers watch videos in vertical or portrait format every week and 79% say adding a shorts feature to a streaming service would increase their weekly use of the streaming app.

    The study further revealed that Gen Z consumers expressed preference for streamers’ short-form content offerings, which include original reality shows, exclusive previews, original scripted content, and movie highlights. comedy and live sports shows. And when analyzing their expectations by streaming service, their choices vary: ESPN+ watchers prioritize live sports highlights over other types of short-form content, for example. Another key finding indicates that when it comes to platform features, Gen Z values ​​interactivity, personalized recommendations, and robust captioning or translation options in a social-like experience.
