Stockholm,, September 12, 2025 / Prnewswire / – The International Federation of Psoriasis Associations (IFPA) highlights psoriatic disease at the next Unga 80 new YorkWhere world leaders are expected to adopt a new political declaration on non-transmitted diseases (MNT), mental health and well-being.

Key factory facts:
- It is estimated that 60 million people worldwide are affected by psoriatic disease – a serious and non -transmissible life disease that has an impact on the skin, joints and other organs. Psoriasis also increases the risks for diabetes, obesity, cardiovascular disease and depression.
- Despite a resolution of the World Health Organization (WHO) of 2014 recognizing Psoriasis as a major public health problem, progress has been slow, which prompted the IFPA (International Federation of Psoriasis Associations) to call a renewed global commitment.

Psoriatic disease is a permanent systemic inflammatory condition, often coexisting with other MNTs, such as diabetes, obesity, cardiovascular disease and depression. It is estimated that 60 million people live with the disease. Despite figures, psoriatic disease has been neglected in health systems around the world.
The first and only resolution on psoriasis was adopted by WHO in 2014, recognizing it as a major public health problem. Since then, progress has been poor. IFPA calls for a larger global commitment to ensure that the needs of people with psoriatic disease are integrated into global and national health policies.
To amplify this call, IFPA representatives go to new York Participate in the next United Nations high -level meeting on non -transmitted diseases (MNT) – at the UN headquarters September 25. This event brings together heads of health, experts and political decision -makers to shape the future of MNT prevention and care. IFPA seizes this opportunity to defend more inclusive policies, improved access to care and greater recognition of psoriatic diseases in the wider NCD program.
As part of this advocacy initiative, IFPA organizes a high -level conversation in partnership with Defined On the touch of Unga, entitled: Psoriatic and MNT disease: put the lived experience at the heart of politics. The event takes place at the Pavilion Devex NCD in new York September 22.
