Air Force One carrying President Biden landed at Noi Bai Airport at 4 p.m. on Sunday.
After landing, Biden, dressed in a dark blue suit and black glasses, got off at Noi Bai Airport. He stopped for a few seconds to greet people and receive a bouquet of flowers from a student in Hanoi.
There is no rain in Noi Bai this afternoon and the temperature is around 31 degrees Celsius.

The welcome of Biden and his delegation at Noi Bai Airport included Party Central Committee member and head of the Central Foreign Affairs Committee Le Hoai Trung, Deputy Foreign Minister Ha Kim Ngoc, Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Council Nguyen Ngoc Tuan, the Vietnamese ambassador at Noi Bai airport. American Nguyen Quoc Dung, Head of the State Protocol Directorate Nguyen Viet Dung, American Ambassador to Vietnam Marc E. Knapper, as well as other officials and employees of the American Embassy in Hanoi.
After the ceremonies and discussions with Knapper, Biden and his delegation traveled to the presidential palace to attend the official reception ceremony.

At 4:30 p.m., the entourage carrying Biden and his delegation crossed the Nhat Tan Bridge and headed toward downtown Hanoi. The entourage included traffic police motorcycles and many cars. The entourage walked several streets of Hanoi before ending up at the Presidential Palace. In its path, other vehicles were temporarily prohibited.
People were watching the surroundings about 10 m on the other side of the barriers. Numerous forces, including police, militia and volunteers, were present to provide security. High-rise buildings and homes had their windows closed and blinds drawn, while some restaurants and stores were restricted.

Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong is expected to hold talks with Biden at the Party Central Committee headquarters on Sunday.
On Monday, Biden will meet with Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and the two leaders will attend the Vietnam-US High-Level Conference on Innovation and Investment. On the same day, President Vo Van Thuong will receive Biden and host a state banquet to welcome him.
The September 10-11 visit is Biden’s first to Vietnam since taking office in early 2021. It comes as Vietnam and the United States celebrate 10 years of comprehensive partnership.
He is joined by Secretary of State Antony Blinken, National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan, Special Presidential Envoy for Climate John Kerry and Assistant Secretary of State for East Asian Affairs and Pacific Daniel Kritenbrink.
During his visit, Biden will meet Party leader Trong and other senior Vietnamese officials, Vietnamese Ambassador to the United States Nguyen Quoc Dung said, adding that the two countries will review their comprehensive partnership and define a vision for relationships for the future. .
President Biden is the second US president to visit Vietnam during his first presidential term since the normalization of relations between the two countries in 1995, after Donald Trump.
