The new MID-IR analyzer offers the long-term precision and stability necessary for the progression of research on the nitrogen cycle
Santa Clara, California.,, April 16, 2025 / Prnewswire / – Picarro Inc.A world leader in gas concentration and stable isotopes analyzers, has today introduced the PI5131-I AnalyzerA rush medium–Infrared (mid-–Ir) analyzer designed for simultaneous, high precision, site and bulk Δ measurements15N, D15Na, d15NB and D18O in nitrous oxide (n₂o). These isotopomers of n2O can be used to probe sources and flows into the world nitrogen cycle by identifying the processes of nitrification and denitrification in soil and water which are essential in soils and agricultural sciences.

“With its peak precision, its simultaneous measurement capacities and its reliable operation, the PI5131-I The analyzer is designed for the most demanding field and laboratory applications, “said Milos Markovic, Ph.D., principal director of Picarro environmental activities.” We are delighted to present this advanced analyzer, further strengthening our portfolio of real -time surveillance solutions that support crucial research. “”
PI5131-I: Advanced capacities for n₂o analysis
THE PI5131-I Analyzer Integrates the advanced technology of ringtone spectroscopy (CRDS) of the median cavity (CRDS) of Picarro with the infrared cavity with previous models. PI5131-I is an ideal solution to discern and measure the source of N2O Emission by seizure sample measurements in the laboratory. The analyzer offers the following precision for 10 min on average:
- d15N, D15And D15Nβ precision: 0.7 per millet
- d18O Precision: 0.7 per mil
- N₂O concentration accuracy: <0.05 ppb (in 10 minutes on average)
About Picarro
For more than 25 years, Picarro has allowed scientists from around the world to precisely measure the concentrations of greenhouse gases (GHG), traces and stable isotopes in the air that we breathe, the water we drink and the earth that we harm.
