Fujitsu 1Finity T900 Lab Validate Cost per bit for more sustainable, high performance and high capacity networking
Kawasaki, Japan,, June 4, 2025 / Prnewswire / – Fujitsu Limited announced that Orange SA had achieved a laboratory assessment of the Fujitsu 1Finity ™ T900 series. The evaluation has shown exceptional performance at wavelengths of 800 IPS over long distances with low energy consumption, allowing affordable and durable optical transport.
Network operators are faced with the challenge of transporting more traffic at a lower cost by lower bit due to the increase in data requests and the cost increase. This is still complicated by high energy costs and environmental sustainability objectives, pushing network operators to reduce energy consumption for lower carbon footprint.
Orange assessment in its innovation laboratories in France revealed that the transponder 1Finity T900 maintained low and constant energy consumption over all transmission rates, reaching a transport distance of at least 1,600 km at 800 Gbit / s with an electricity consumption of less than 150 Watts. This demonstrates the potential for a distance and a long-haul transport capacity even higher without increasing energy consumption.
This energy efficiency is activated by unique liquid cooling technology closed with fujitsu. Combined with its ability to support up to 1.2 TBPS per wavelength, the liquid -cooled transponder offers increased spectral efficiency for optimal capacity and scope, resulting in lower bit per km per km, reduction in operating costs and improving sustainability.
Houmed Ibrahim, leader in optical transport innovation at Orange, underlined the company’s commitment to deploy high performance networks with minimum energy consumption. Hideki MatsuiThe head of the commercial unit of the photonic system in Fujitsu, said that the 1Finity T900 solution allows an extreme scale and reliable terabit performance while consuming up to 70% power in less than 800 Gbit / s.
Fujitsu establishes a new company, 1Finity Inc., on July 1st To consolidate its network products and operations of network. This aims to accelerate the delivery of high -quality optical and wireless solutions worldwide, contributing to a more sustainable future.
