KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA – Media OutReach – October 16, 2023 – International brokerage service Octa has sponsored the Cambridge Program IGCSE exam fees for 16 students from Ideas Academy Malaysia. Additionally, to prepare these students for exams, their teachers naturally need to use the latest versions of textbooks. This is where Octa stepped in once again by also sponsoring the purchase of these new Cambridge textbooks.

Students must pass exams in the following subjects: English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, ICT, Business Studies, Accounting and Economics. Each student must pass at least 5 subjects. The exams are expected to take place in fall 2023.
The motto of Ideas Academy is “Education for All”. Their mission is to ensure that every child aged 12 to 18 receives a solid secondary education foundation. In turn, this would enable them to become confident, responsible and successful adults. Ideas Academy offers high-quality, affordable virtual education combined with physical classes for students in Kuala Lumpur, and Octa has pushed to become a frequent partner in the organization’s efforts.
Since 2012, Ideas Academy has provided holistic secondary education, based on the IGCSE curriculum, to help students thrive. It is not just a matter of helping these young people survive, but of helping them take their place in the world. Besides the motto stated above, Ideas Academy’s mission statement might be somewhere along the lines of: “Unlocking human potential when it matters most.”
This is by far not the first time that Octa and Ideas Academy have collaborated on a project. Last year, for example, the broker also covered exam fees for the Cambridge IGCSE program for Ideas Academy students. Additionally, Octa supported Ideas Academy with a new “financial literacy” workshop format as part of a 2023 Ramadan charity project.
To commemorate Octa’s 12th anniversary, the broker decided to carry out educational projects covering not only Malaysia, but also India, Nigeria and Indonesia. In India, for example, the broker helped distribute textbooks and notebooks to 106 of the poorest students at Sita Rajaram Polytechnic College. On the African continent, in Nigeria, the company supported the creation of eight “Reading Corners”, another popular and effective way of spreading appropriate and relevant literature among young people and encouraging their love of reading. In Indonesia, Octa helped launch another literacy project “I love to read” – with the unique distribution system “Library in the box”, which trains teachers to effectively manage books and teaching materials in school libraries.
