“Everyone would think I slept well on my first night back home, comfortable in my own bed with its warm blanket and soft, familiar-smelling mattress, right?” the model posted on her Facebook on Tuesday.
“In reality, I stayed up from dusk until dawn, immersed in hundreds of thousands of comments filled with encouragement and expressions of love.”
Ngoc Trinh said she was deeply moved and surprised by the unexpected amount of support she received, which she said lifted her morale and helped her overcome recent difficult times.
The model was arrested in October last year as part of an investigation into charges of “disturbing public order”.
The arrest came after investigators discovered that Trinh had posted five videos of herself riding high-displacement motorcycles on her TikTok channel and Facebook pages, each with millions of followers.
Her videos were then widely circulated online, receiving heavy criticism from the public, police said, as she performed poses, including lying and kneeling on the saddles of vehicles, while driving on the roads of the town of Thu Duc.
Investigators determined that this content “harmed public order and safety” and “negatively affected the lifestyle and thinking of young people”, in violation of the Code of Conduct for Behavior on Social Media published by the Ministry of Information and Communication in 2021.
An investigation also revealed that Trinh had not obtained a license to ride large-engine motorcycles.
She was then given a one-year suspended prison sentence during a trial on February 2 at the HCMC People’s Court for “disturbing public order” and was later released on two years’ probation.
Ngoc Trinh reflected on the recent period as an opportunity to self-evaluate.
“Life events result in both ‘losses’ and ‘gains,’” she said. “Yet I see this [her sentence] as a “win”: it brought me more love and a better understanding of the true values of life. »
Ngoc Trinh also viewed past events as an opportunity for personal reflection. She recognized that her recent mistake taught her the importance of not justifying one’s actions simply out of passion without weighing their potential effects and consequences.
Therefore, discussing his future intentions, Ngoc Trinh expressed his commitment to exert more efforts to contribute positively to society.
“As a public figure, I recognize the need for greater accountability and the importance of conveying positive messages to the younger generation,” she wrote. “Moving forward, I am committed to continually improving myself to become the best version of myself.”
Born Tran Thi Ngoc Trinh, the 35-year-old model began her modeling career in 2005 before becoming known to the public thanks to her lingerie and swimsuit photoshoots.
She then became the winner of the Miss Vietnam International pageant in 2011.
She made her acting debut in 2016 with her role in “Vong Eo 56” (Bikini Queen), based on her life, and has since participated in various film projects.
