In an interview for The New York TimesMike Spencer, head of investor relations at Microsoft, said the company expects to continue struggling with supplying the Xbox Series X at least until June of this year.

Earlier reports indicated that the shortage problems would continue until April, but it is now clear that the situation will not improve in the first half of this year. In addition to the COVID-19 outbreak last year, scalpers are also contributing significantly to the problem. Retailers and consumers can’t get their hands on current-generation GPUs and consoles, resulting in insanely high prices.
Industry analysts and even Lisa Su, CEO of AMD, say this will be the norm for most of 2021, so you’ll either have to wait to upgrade your PC or console or dig deep in your pockets and get what you need well above the MSRP.
