Meizu turns eighteenth since its inception, and this year’s festivities will include a new user interface and a new series of smartphones, announced during the three-day holiday. A documentary will launch on March 1, followed by the new Flyme 9 on March 2, and the highlight is March 3 – two shiny new Meizu 18 smartphones.
The new UI will be based on Android 11, but according to the leaks, the phones will run an older Flyme 8.3 interface, still based on Google’s latest operating system. Speaking of leaks and rumors, we expect a Meizu 18 with a Snapdragon 870, accompanied by a Meizu 18 Pro, running on the flagship Snapdragon 888 chipset.
According to a listing on CCC, the Meizu 18 will have a 4000mAh battery with a 30W charge, while the Pro will have a 4500mAh cell and 40W charge rates, however, none of them will. Comes with the actual charger in the box – a fad started by Apple and continued by Samsung and Xiaomi.
Phones can also have a Meizu watch for a company on stage, but so far we’ve only seen a patented design and heard nothing about the actual specs.
