With this agreement, KT Cloud will not only strengthen its leadership in domestic IDC, but also plans to seriously launch its global IDC business by securing infrastructure and strengthening services in overseas markets. Digital Bridge will successfully enter the Korean market building on KT Cloud’s position as the leader in the Korean IDC market and secure credentials for large enterprises in Asia. Additionally, the two companies said they plan to cooperate to strengthen IDC’s ESG by bringing together the two companies’ technologies and capabilities in energy efficiency and carbon reduction.
Digital Bridge is a global digital infrastructure investment firm headquartered in Florida, USA. It invests in Internet Data Centers (IDCs), fiber optic networks and cell towers, and operates assets of over KRW 65 trillion by the end of 2022.
IDC’s projects in the Asia-Pacific region include Southeast Asia-based Vantage (Vantage Data Centers LLC) and AIMS (AIMS Data Center Sdn) portfolios, such as Malaysia, Thailand, and Singapore. Digital Bridge signed a contract to acquire AIMS in November last year and is currently in the process of closing the acquisition agreement.
