JOHOR BAHRU, MALAYSIA – Media OutReach – November 15, 2023 – Industrial Facilities and Services (IPS) Malaysia Berhad has not only established its importance in sustainable energy practices by taking on a lead role as a rotating service provider for the innovative Net-Zero Carbon initiative, but has also signaled its willingness to helping other businesses with similar aspirations. .
Aiming to deepen its commitment to sustainable energy practices, IPS Malaysia hosted a technical sharing session titled “Achieving Decarbonization Targets with Your Factory’s Rotating Equipment”. The event took place on 10 November 2023 at the DoubleTree by Hilton Johor Bahru and featured notable speakers Sofronio Silang Baual, Technical Specialist of Rotating Equipment, and Ashwin S Narayanan, Managing Director of IPS Malaysia.
The sharing session was graced by the honorable director of the Johor State Forestry Department, Ybhg. Dato’ Haji Salim Bin Aman, as well as other notable guests including Kolej Yayasan Pelajaran Johor School of Engineering principal Puan Hartini Binti Saad, as well as 21 students. Representatives from the Ministry of the Environment and relevant private sectors were also present.
In a world increasingly concerned about climate change and the urgent need for sustainable practices, industrial facilities face a crucial challenge in achieving net zero emissions. IPS Malaysia recognizes this critical issue and brought together industry stakeholders for an in-depth discussion on the role of asset turnover in decarbonization strategies. The session offered invaluable insights into achieving net zero carbon emissions by optimizing asset turnover within industrial facilities.
The main topics covered during the technical sharing session included:
Sustainable practices in rotating equipment maintenance
Leveraging advanced technologies for energy efficiency
Implement predictive maintenance strategies for optimal asset performance
Strategies to reduce carbon emissions without sacrificing productivity.
The initiative included engaging presentations, interactive discussions and numerous networking opportunities, providing participants with a comprehensive understanding of the challenges and opportunities related to decarbonization in industrial contexts.
While sharing Ybhg. Dato’ Haji Salim Bin Aman mentioned that there are two basic concepts to achieve net zero carbon, namely reducing emissions and increasing carbon dioxide absorption.
“Absorption occurs mainly through natural means, through forest, trees and more, but due to limiting factors such as land space, we would certainly benefit from any reduction methods, which is why Efforts like this are welcome,” he said.
In its efforts to achieve net zero carbon emissions by 2050, IPS Malaysia has brought its extensive expertise in plant maintenance, repair and essential services. These efforts have helped ensure compliance with the highest industry standards, with a strong emphasis on environmental responsibility and energy efficiency.
Mr. Ashwin Narayanan, Managing Director of IPS Malaysia Berhad, expressed his enthusiasm for the event and said, “At IPS Malaysia Berhad, we are committed to driving positive change in the industrial sector. Our “Decarbonize and Prosper” technical sharing session represented an important step towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals without compromising operational excellence. We are always eager to share our ideas and explore innovative solutions.
IPS Malaysia has not only led the way towards a greener industrial future, but also wants to support other companies sharing a similar vision. “As we pave the way for a sustainable future, we look forward to serving and collaborating with more companies committed to achieving their carbon neutrality goals,” added Mr. Narayanan.
