The latest research from Booking.com has exploited new trends and ideas led by food, revealing Asia-Pacific Growth of appetite for holiday homes as they travel with their taste buds

Travelers in the region are increasingly selecting vacation homes that offer accessibility and freedom of dinner, host and / or cooking in unique spaces and authentic destinations.
For Australians, food considerably shapes trips, with 82% of destinations based on culinary preferences, holiday homes are a type of accommodation chosen for this trip, with 97% of Australians saying that they modify their cooking and catering habits during their trip. They frequent local markets (85%), cook local dishes (34%), are trying new household appliances (33%) and experiment with new revenues (34%).

1. The new Head chef in the holiday home
The role of the “chef” in holiday homes changes. Only 13% of Australian travelers said mom as a holiday cook. The younger generations now trust the lead with complete confidence, mixing family recipes with new ideas; Gen Z (38%) most often cooks family revenues.

Through the Asia-PacificHoliday homes fuel an increase in “carriage tourism”, where visits to local food markets, seasonal gourmet festivals and fashionable supermarkets are part of the travel experience. 88% of Australian travelers like to visit local food markets on vacation, a figure that increases 96% among frequent holiday bookers.
4. Portable guard
Travelers bring their kitchens with them when booking houses. This makes vacation kitchens familiar while allowing the exploration of destination. 80%of Australians bring food or cooking items, including tea / coffee (38%), wine (25%), sauces (24%), coffee machines (13%) and barbecue tools (13%).
