The project of public bicycle sharing in Hue City was born with the criteria of being environmentally friendly, convenient for tourists to pick up and return bicycles at various points in the city.
On the morning of June 5, the People’s Committee of Hue City (Thua Thien – Hue) in cooperation with the German Development Cooperation Agency and Vietsoftpro Joint Stock Company held the opening ceremony of a test model of a public shared bicycle system.
The project of public bicycle sharing in Hue City was born with the criteria of being environmentally friendly, convenient for tourists to pick up and return bicycles at various points in the city. The system is suitable for short travel distances and helps residents and tourists to switch to a more sustainable mode of transport.
The project will be carried out from June this year to December 2023 and is divided into 3 phases. Phase one from June to December will test a smart public bicycle-sharing route in the city with 7 stations on both sides of the Huong River and in the Citadel area.

In phase 2 (from December this year to June 2023) the bicycle system will be tested on a large scale (19-20 stations). The final stage will test the overall system operation, integrate the functions of the application, and stably manage, operate and maintain the system.
Locations that are easily accessible for users, linked to public transport such as bus shelters, parking spaces, boat stations, cultural heritage, historic sites and scenic scenes.
