Perhaps you would opt for the white sand and turquoise waters of a deserted tropical beach. Perhaps it is the appeal of iconic cultural cities such as Vietnam’s Hoi An, Paris in France, Venice or Istanbul.

But then again, the call of the wild from a safari is a pretty special way to spend time with your loved one.

Wherever you travel, some destinations are always green when it comes to romance.

###: Vietnam will soon fully reopen its borders to welcome tourists from all countries around the world

According to CNN, the ancient city of Hoi An in Vietnam is one of the most romantic destinations in the world, where the landscapes and architecture are timeless, the views justifiably famous – and the romance for Valentine’s Day or any time of the year is guaranteed.

“Hoi An has an undeniably quirky and romantic feel to it,” the global broadcaster said.

Recognized as a World Cultural Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1999, the city is a jumble of ancient temples, houses and shops built around a number of canals.

The slightly curved pedestrian bridges allow people to wander hand-in-hand, with hundreds of multicolored lanterns swaying overhead in the coastal breeze, CNN added.

Sitting on a small boat and exploring streets and artisan villages along both sides of the Hoai River is an interesting experience for couples.

CNN also recommended the city’s famous dishes, most notably “banh mi” (baguettes) and “Cao Lau” (noodles).

At the top of the list are the Maldives, followed by Quebec (Canada), Tuscany in Italy and Hawaii, the US.
