The Thu Thiem 4 Bridge will have an iconic architecture, in harmony with the landscape of the Saigon River, and play a role in connecting the urban area of Thu Thiem with the new urban area in the south.

The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Transport has just approved a plan to select a contractor (project preparation step) to research the construction of the Thu Thiem 4 bridge by the public-private partnership (PPP) method.
It is estimated that the cost of bidding in 3 bid packages is about VND 708 million, including preparation of application documents and evaluation of proposals for consultation, research and completion of pre-feasibility study reports; Research, prepare pre-feasibility study report; Verification of the pre-feasibility study report. These bid packages are expected to be completed in the second quarter of 2023.
The Thu Thiem 4 Bridge is expected to be 2,160 m long, starting from the intersection of the Tan Thuan 2 – Nguyen Van Linh Bridge over the new urban area of Thu Thiem and ending at the intersection between the North-South Main Road and the R4 route.

Thu Thiem 4 Bridge is identified as one of the important traffic infrastructure works, which should be prioritized for investment to gradually complete the technical infrastructure of this area.
With the role of connecting traffic between Thu Thiem new urban area and Saigon South urban area, Thu Thiem 4 bridge contributes to urban beautification, solving traffic congestion, creating favorable conditions for the promotion and rapid development of both eastern and southern urban areas of the city.
The new urban area of Thu Thiem has 5 bridges and river tunnels that connect to other parts of the city. In addition to the Thu Thiem and Ba Son bridges and the tunnel that the Saigon River is in use, from the Thu Thiem new urban area, there are also Thu Thiem 3 bridges that connect District 4, Thu Thiem 4 bridges that Connecting District 7 and pedestrian bridges over Bach Dang wharf (District 1).
