District 3 People’s Committee organized the groundbreaking work to repair and upgrade Turtle Lake rotunda at a total cost of nearly 15 billion VND, construction time 4 months, completed before September 2.

According to the District 3 People’s Committee, the project includes items to improve sidewalks and curbs and install seats. Concretely, the construction and renovation of the green space on the sidewalk, the renovation of rainwater drains, the renovation of the lighting installation, the relocation of some capacitors, telecommunications cabinets, the construction of electrical cabinets and gen pipes for billboards.

The work was performed in Pham Ngoc Thach Street (from Nguyen Dinh Chieu to Nguyen Thi Minh Khai); Tran Cao Van Street (from Turtle Lake to Hai Ba Trung); Vo Van Tan Street (from Turtle Lake to Pasteur). The total paving area is approximately 6,700 m².

Renovating and upgrading pedestrian walkways around the construction site contribute to create a spacious urban face, increase traffic capacity, improve people’s living conditions and realize the goal of developing this area into a pedestrian street on weekends, creating space for cultural activities, nightlife of the people.

Previously, the District 3 People’s Committee had proposed the construction of a high-quality pedestrian street with a total area of ​​19,500 sqm in the Turtle Lake area. In which the paved surface of the road surface is more than 12,700 m², the central pavement surface is more than 3,200 m² and more than 3,500 m² of the pavement surface of 4 pavement routes Pham Ngoc Thach, Tran Cao Van and Vo Van Tan streets, the sidewalk around International Square but the work has not yet been carried out.
