Sinar firstone of Indonesia’s leading developers of new economy real estate, for the development of a data center in Batam, Indonesia.

The alliance between Gaw Capital and Sinar Primera highlights a shared vision to capitalize on emerging opportunities in the digital infrastructure sector. With Gaw Capital as lead investor, Sinar Primera will acquire a minority stake in the property and assume the role of project development director.
Phase 1 of the data center campus located in Nongsa Digital Park is expected to be operational by Q4 2024. This new facility will be a single-story building providing up to 6 MW of critical IT load. By combining Gaw Capital’s investment acumen with Sinar Primera’s real estate development expertise, the project aims to provide a state-of-the-art data center that meets the stringent requirements of businesses seeking storage and reliable, scalable and secure data processing.
The Nongsa Digital Park data center campus will enable the near-shoring strategy for Singapore-based data center operators and strengthen the “digital bridge” that connects Singapore and Indonesia. In recent communications shared by Nongsa Digital Park, the General Secretariat of the National Council for Special Economic Zones of the Indonesian Government reaffirmed the security status of data center properties and comprehensive data security, giving customers and operators data centers the assurance they need for data protection.
