PUNE, India and SEOUL, South Korea, October 17, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — Gabriel India Limited (GIL), the NSE-listed flagship of the $2.4 billion ANAND Group, announced a landmark joint venture with SK Enmove, a leading Korean energy and lubricants company and a subsidiary of South Korea’s SK Group, one of the country’s two largest conglomerates with over $250 billion in assets.
This strategic partnership represents an important step in GIL’s transformation into a diversified automotive systems and components company, expanding beyond its traditional core business in drive control products. The JV positions GIL to enter the fast-growing 40,000 Cr Indian market. electric vehicle lubricants and fluids market expected to witness steady growth with the increasing adoption of electric vehicles and vehicles.
‘SK Enmove Gabriel India’, where SK Enmove will hold 51% stake and GIL the remaining 49%, will leverage the existing strengths and operations of both partners, with an aim to ensure an immediate and strong presence in the automotive fluids segment. This includes the establishment of a new facility and also involves the acquisition of SK Enmove’s existing operations in India, providing immediate foothold.
Leveraging GIL’s strong brand image, close relationships with OEMs and extensive aftermarket distribution network, the new joint venture is poised to expand rapidly in the Indian market starting this December.
This decision follows GIL’s recent diversification initiatives, notably its JV with Korean JINHAP for automotive fasteners; a partnership with the Dutch company Inalfa Roof Systems for opening roofs and its entry into the field of renewable energies thanks to solar dampers. GIL has also expanded into the European bicycle market with its suspension products.
